Dan Lovero - President

Dan Lovero previously worked in the sports industry for a golf fitness franchise. As the marketing director of the national company he worked closely with the PGA and the franchisees. Working with online marketing content and marketing analytics, he consulted and taught courses for industry professionals and franchise owners. Working within sports event management he interfaced with athletes and sports organizations.

Marc-Andre Lewis – VP Marketing

Marc’s work in the sports industry has mostly been in the fitness area. He has worked with several gyms holding all positions from sales representative to marketing manager to project manager. Outside of the sports industry, Marc has worked as a commercial insurance underwriter in which he was responsible for creating and leading new growth initiatives as well as managing and creating relationships with brokers of all sizes. As a competitive university level athlete, Marc has interacted with leagues and organizations of all sizes throughout his life.

Vijay Setlur - Faculty Advisor

Vijay is a driven, results-focused "Intrapreneur" with a passion for Marketing, Partnerships, Business Development, Event Management, Communications and Sport Business. A strong interest in building brands and generating revenue has driven his accomplishments in Sport Business and Education:

*Developed partnerships with 70 companies (AT&T, UEFA, NBA, ESPN Deportes, etc.), leading to 78 marketing consulting projects for students

*Conceived and developed Schulich's first Sports, Media & Entertainment Internship Fair - 16 companies, 55 positions and an attendance of 241 students

*Created a communication strategy that generated 20 media interviews, raising awareness of FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 and leading to 100% attendance at all matches, a cut in Toronto LOC's marketing budget and a $700,000 profit 

*Designed and executed a strategy that is building the Schulich School of Business brand in the sport industry via 5 tactics:
1. Associating Schulich with sport business: Earned 150 mentions in media stories on sport business
2. Developing industry partnerships: Forged partnerships with 68 companies resulting in students completing 76 marketing consulting projects
3. Showcasing student talent: Coached an undergrad team to silver in Ryerson University's 2014 Sport Innovation Case Competition
4. Creating industry events: Sport Industry Alumni Mixer, Sport Industry Internship Fair, Tennis Canada Symposium and a speaking event with NHL CMO Brian Jennings
5. Placing students in the industry: Students have earned internships with organizations such as the NBA, NHL, IMG, Rugby Canada and Honda Indy

Brett Hinspeter - VP Finance

Brett Hinspeter previously worked as an Account Manager at a mortgage company based in the United-States. As an account manager, he assisted military veterans in financing the homes of their dreams. Prior to that, he was an accountant for a construction company. Brett has always been an avid sports fan, watching anything from the NFL to NASCAR to golf.

Frank Wang - Corporate Relations and Events Director

Frank's expertise is primarily with the health and fitness industry. While completing his undergrad, he had the opportunity to experience many aspects of running a fitness facility, including acting as the program manager. He has also operated his own fitness business, with some of his past clients being aspiring young athletes and retired Olympians. He is now aiming to expand on his past experiences by discovering the management side of the sports industry. Over the years, regardless of how busy his schedule has been, Sundays have always been for Football.

Gregory Gonzalez - Marketing and Communications Director 

Greg’s work experience has been primarily in the Education sector, specifically in South Korea. He did a 6-year stint in Seoul, South Korea where he worked as a teacher, supervisor, marketer, and committee member. He was a committee member on the Events Committee with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Korea where he worked closely with different organizations to bring social and networking events to life. In Korea, he found his passion for fitness and started training for endurance sports. He completed a few marathons, triathlons, and duathlons. Now that he’s back home, he rock climbs, plays racquet sports, and runs whenever he finds the time.
